God has a way of getting my attention

Sunday night David had left for work and Isaac was asleep. I found myself all alone with nothing to do...and being a new mom, that is rare! I began to pray, and in my confession to Jesus I realized that I had not passionately pursued my relationship with Him; it had not been my #1 priority. This just at the time that I need to be completely abandoned to Christ, not just for myself but also to teach my son how to love Him! I began to pour out my heart to God, and I began to realize that the other things I once had passion for had also diminished. And so I prayed...God, please don't let your calling on my life be over because I have chosen to be lackadaisical. Please ignite the passion for You in my heart and along with it, my passion to see others know You! Lord, open a door for me to reach others for you. Funny how God works sometimes. The very next day my dad called to tell me that our school's international missions trip in April would be to Kenya. I asked him how that had come about as we had previously been planning to go to Trinidad. The gentleman who is in charge of moving the school this summer (we have a new building) was driving a speaker from his church somewhere, and he felt like he needed to introduce him to my dad. He was a pastor from Kenya, and when he met my dad his spirit connected with my dad's spirit, and he asked him if he could come to headline a conference in April, along with my mom and me. Wow! Then, he shared that he was interested in eventually opening two orphanages and a Christian school...and he is interested in me helping with the school! I don't know what the future may hold as far as the school is concerned, but I do know that Jesus heard the cry of His child, and He was faithful to answer! Would you please keep David and me in your prayers concerning this situation? And know that God is faithful...even when we are not (even when I am not).

FIRST TASTE OF CEREAL
Isaac is a breast-fed baby, and I was not too excited to start him on cereal right when he turned four months. David, however, since Dr. Rasor first mentioned cereal, has been wanting to feed it to him. So as part of David's Father's Day gift, he was the first to feed Isaac cereal. While Issac had some difficulty with it, he obviously enjoyed the taste. And David was a proud daddy!

FOUR MONTHS OLD
I can't believe that my baby is growing up so fast. He is so interested in the world around him, and he loves to watch his cousins play...you can tell that he can't wait to be able to run around with them.

Carson is very interested in Isaac, and he loves to poke him...so cute!

I had to put this picture of Isaac in...such an expression!
