I HEARD ANGELS SINGING
We went to the Maumee fireworks last night, and Isaac was mesmerized. As we were walking home, he fell asleep in his stroller (around 10:30 pm). My family was over, and they left around midnight. I got Isaac up, changed his clothes and fed him (he stayed asleep the whole time). This morning he woke up for the first time at 9:22 am. I guess I will need to begin using my alarm clock again since he is no longer a reliable wake up call! I had about eight and a half hours of sleep in one stretch...and I heard the angels singing loud and clear!

God has a way of getting my attention

Sunday night David had left for work and Isaac was asleep. I found myself all alone with nothing to do...and being a new mom, that is rare! I began to pray, and in my confession to Jesus I realized that I had not passionately pursued my relationship with Him; it had not been my #1 priority. This just at the time that I need to be completely abandoned to Christ, not just for myself but also to teach my son how to love Him! I began to pour out my heart to God, and I began to realize that the other things I once had passion for had also diminished. And so I prayed...God, please don't let your calling on my life be over because I have chosen to be lackadaisical. Please ignite the passion for You in my heart and along with it, my passion to see others know You! Lord, open a door for me to reach others for you. Funny how God works sometimes. The very next day my dad called to tell me that our school's international missions trip in April would be to Kenya. I asked him how that had come about as we had previously been planning to go to Trinidad. The gentleman who is in charge of moving the school this summer (we have a new building) was driving a speaker from his church somewhere, and he felt like he needed to introduce him to my dad. He was a pastor from Kenya, and when he met my dad his spirit connected with my dad's spirit, and he asked him if he could come to headline a conference in April, along with my mom and me. Wow! Then, he shared that he was interested in eventually opening two orphanages and a Christian school...and he is interested in me helping with the school! I don't know what the future may hold as far as the school is concerned, but I do know that Jesus heard the cry of His child, and He was faithful to answer! Would you please keep David and me in your prayers concerning this situation? And know that God is faithful...even when we are not (even when I am not).

FIRST TASTE OF CEREAL
Isaac is a breast-fed baby, and I was not too excited to start him on cereal right when he turned four months. David, however, since Dr. Rasor first mentioned cereal, has been wanting to feed it to him. So as part of David's Father's Day gift, he was the first to feed Isaac cereal. While Issac had some difficulty with it, he obviously enjoyed the taste. And David was a proud daddy!

FOUR MONTHS OLD
I can't believe that my baby is growing up so fast. He is so interested in the world around him, and he loves to watch his cousins play...you can tell that he can't wait to be able to run around with them.

Carson is very interested in Isaac, and he loves to poke him...so cute!

I had to put this picture of Isaac in...such an expression!

A BIG DAY!!!
Graduation is always looked at as a special time of year, but this year we really had reason to celebrate! My dad graduated with his Doctorate of Ministry on June 2!!! Also on that date, my parents celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. In honor of their marriage and of my dad's great achievement, we threw them a party last night. It was a fun night with friends and family (all the kids together for the first time!), and we had a great time sharing fond memories and making new ones!

THE BUMBO SEAT
This is one of the few things that I knew I wanted for Isaac. He loves to sit in it and look around, and it certainly makes going to a restaurant easier.

THREE MONTHS OLD!
It's amazing to me how quickly Isaac has grown up. At three months, he weighs 13 lbs, 4 oz. Every day he discovers new and exciting things. He is loving his hands right now. He has started to giggle, and David and I are just waiting to hear him laugh! His little feet are ticklish, and he loves to have his head scratched...all in all, he is such a joy to have in our lives. On my first Mother's Day, I reflected on how life has changed since Isaac entered the world, and I realized that I would be incomplete without him! Being a mom has been the greatest gift. Sure, there are hard days, and teething is certainly no picnic, but I wouldn't trade him for anything...what a beautiful boy God has blessed us with!

JUST SOME CUTE PICTURES

TRIP TO TENNESSEE
Over my Spring Break, I took my students to Gatlinburg, TN to do some work at the Smokey Mountain Children's Home. Most of them had never been before, and they had a blast! This was Isaac's first out of state trip...here are a few pics!

Two of my girls, Kaleigh and Kayleigh, bought Isaac these shoes, some socks and this shirt...very cute!!!
We went to the Comedy Barn

A NEW BABY!
Jamie and Crystal welcomed their third child (they say the last...we'll see:) on April 22, 2007. She looks kind of big, but she's only 6 pounds, 9 ounces. She's so cute...we hope to go and see her soon!

He must have been very tired
Isaac ate at 10pm last night, and he fell asleep around 10:30. I am very accustomed to him sleeping for about 3-4 hours and then waking up to eat. I woke up at 4:45am and looked at my clock...I had to rush to his bassinet to be sure he was still breathing! I actually woke him up while doing it...who knows how long he would have slept! What did I learn? As much as I would LOVE to sleep longer than he usually lets me, any changes like that cause a mild amount of panic in my heart...which is probably just as it should be.

Two Months Old!!
Isaac is growing up so fast,
and we are constantly amazed by what he can do!
At his two month appointment he weighed 12 pounds and measured at 23.5 inches long.
He had his first round of immunizations (three shots), and I think we were more upset than he was. He came home and slept from 6pm until 9am, waking about every 3-4 hours to eat. Poor guy!
I'm a little partial, but I think he must be the cutest baby I have ever seen!
